What does SSH2cPanel convert?
It converts an SSH2 public key block defined by RFC 4716 into the one-line OpenSSH public key form used by cPanel and authorized_keys. Existing OpenSSH keys are also validated and normalized to the same clean output.
FREE BROWSER-BASED SSH KEY TOOL
Convert an SSH2/RFC 4716 public key into the one-line OpenSSH format used by cPanel and authorized_keys files. Paste a key or upload your .pub file and SSH2cPanel will locate the key, validate its encoded data, and output only the key type and Base64 payload—for example, ssh-rsa AAAA….
The entire conversion runs locally inside your browser. Your public key is never uploaded to our server, saved in a database, or shared with another service. For your safety, only use a public key here—never paste or upload a private SSH key.
SSH2/RFC 4716 files use begin and end markers with key data wrapped across several lines. cPanel and OpenSSH authorized_keys commonly use a single line containing the algorithm name and Base64 payload. This tool extracts and validates that public key material, then produces the one-line form without changing the key itself. It does not generate, alter, or access your private key.

No. Parsing, validation, conversion, copying, and download creation happen locally in your browser. Your key is not sent to the website server. No account or login is required.
SSH2cPanel supports OpenSSH RSA, Ed25519, ECDSA, DSA, compatible FIDO hardware security keys, OpenSSH certificates, and future labels in the standard SSH algorithm families. The tool rejects private keys and malformed public key data.
Sign in to cPanel and open SSH Access. Select Manage SSH Keys, choose Import Key, and paste the converted text into the public key field. After importing, manage the key and click Authorize.
